What kind of files will VirusTotal scan?

VirusTotal - VirusTotal - VirusTotal is a website created by the Spanish security company Hispasec Sistemas. Launched in June 2004, it was acquired by Google Inc. in September 2012.The company's ownership switched in January 2018 to Chronicle, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.. will scan, and detect, if appropriate, any type of binary content, be it a Windows executable, Android APKs, PDFs, images, javascript code, etc. Most of the antivirus companies involved in VirusTotal will have solutions for multiple platform, hence they usually produce detection signatures for any kind of malicious content

The antivirus result displays a green circle with a white tick mark, what does this mean?

Launched in June 2004, it was acquired by Google Inc. in September 2012.The company's ownership switched in January 2018 to Chronicle, a subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.. makes use of the ✔ checkmark symbol to indicate that the given file was not detected in any way by the antivirus under consideration. We do not use the word "clean" or "innocuous" because antivirus solutions do not tell you whether a file is goodware, they just flag maliciousness.

Searching for users in your group account

The VirusTotal group view includes a user listing. Displayed users can be filtered using the "Search users" text box found at the top of the users list.

You can use the following search modifiers to search for users matching certain criteria:

api_quota_group:

Display only the users that are consuming premium API quota licensed by the organization.

Example:

api_quota_group:your_group_name

groups_managed:

Show the admins of the given group.

Example:

groups_managed:your_group_name

email:

Filter users based on their email address.

Example:

email:john.snow@winterfell.com

first_name:

Filter users based on their first name. This is a fulltext search, you need to provide an entire word.

Example:

first_name:john

last_name:

Filter users based on their last name. This is a fulltext search, you need to provide an entire word.

Example:

last_name:snow

username:

Search for users with a given user name.

Example:

username:johnsnow
